The name Pharos is still used as the noun for "lighthouse" in some languages, for example: Albanian, Catalan, and Romanian (far), French (phare), Italian, Galician, and Spanish (faro), Armenian ("Փարօս/Paros"), Portuguese (farol), Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish (fyr), Bulgarian (фар), and Greek (φάρος).
