Saint Aloysius Church located in Hunter Township near Saint Bernice in Edgar County Illinois. History: The history of St. Aloysius, North Arm, began in 1817. At the time, pioneers ventured from Bardstown, Kentucky and ended their journey at the north arm of Coal Creek in what is now eastern Edgar County in East Central Illinois. The original church was a log structure, which was replaced by this brick church in 1900 using the original altar and communion rails. A historical marker was dedicated to the church in 1991 by the Edgar County Historical Society Canon EOS 350D
