Current Gallery: wordart3 ( piece)
Lately I've been thinking about words and art and the way they can be used to invoke deeper meanings. In my search I have stumbled over a powerful converse force: art can also dilute entirely the meaning of words. I buried and enmeshed within the larger art whole a piece of prose which is very old and famous and many, many people know by heart. I've also experimented with the name probably on most people's lips these days. What do you choose to see when you view words in art? How easy is it to let go of their official meanings and format? Very, I think. I'd prefer to see a bulge, an autumn scene or an abstraction. What do you see? D.N. Mason copyright 2009.
