Current Gallery: placerville ( piece)
The city of Placerville, California was a mining town during the gold rush era. "Old Hangtown" had hotels, stores, bars, and a courthouse. While most of the main street was remodeled in the 1950's, restored historical builds dot the street. Brick and stone were used after a number of fires leveled the downtown. These photos capture what is left of this historically rich town.
